this injury does not have a motive. ktvu channel 2 morning news has learned that the suspect who died is a person of interest in a homicide. police say they opened fire on the come side after they tried to ram a police car. police have not remained. a homeless man killed by police pointed an object at them they believed was a gun. it turned out to be some sort of metal cool and the man led police on pursuit. >>> they are looking for a truck that i say has been robbed twice since january. the most recent incident was when thieves drove a forklift into the yard and stole in which as of excess of 5,000 dollars. >> surveillance video captured this and anybody with information is asked to call police. >>> now the town's park's commission is drug new regular layings to walk just six dogs at a time. they are considering putting up signs in open space area. >>> and they are now behind the super bowl and they are including a long list with recommendations and not everybody is happy that a multi- million dollar businesslike the nfl would get financial breaks. >> why is a non-profit, $9 billion

continue. ktvu channel 2 reporter janine de la vega is live with more on the head injury that happened just days before that has investigators so concerned and what he may have been out looking for. janine. >> reporter: pam, search and rescue crews will be here in two hours. they are meeting here at the scotts valley fire department. they already have their search and rescue truck out of here. they will come up with a plan of specific areas. when searching for 20-year-old matt abraham. here's a video that abraham posted on video. showing his swollen face from injuries that he received in an accident. he says he fell 50-60 feet off a test l into the sand and suffered a head injury. his family thinks he walked away from his scotts valley home and may be disoriented. >> i'm starting to recover slowly. i'm starting to come back home as you can see. i managed to break anything besides my brain right here. >> reporter: the santa cruz sheriffs department searched yesterday in scotts valley and in the park past midnight. abraham was fixuated on finding a backpack he left behind. he also expres

custody. we want to go to the new video just into the ktvu newsroom. a suspect vandalized a taxicab around jackson and bu can son. the driver of the taxicab got out, confronted the suspect, there was some type of confrontation and then somehow the suspect entered the taxi and drove away with it. now, sfpd was able to find the driver. what we're hearing is the suspect rammed the taxi into a patrol car. we're also hearing that shots were later fired but the suspect was able to escape until he go the here in the fort mason area. -- until he got here in the fort mason area. back out here live at fort mason, officers are still around the area, surrounding the taxicab. you can see there's extensive damage to the back of the taxicab. that's probably the part of the car where the suspect allegedly rammed into a police car. but again, the suspect taken into custody. it's unclear whether there are injuries as a result of the vandalism, chase and officer- involved shooting. there's active scenes at the other locations we talked about. we understand there is a p.i.o. from san francisco police e

along on "mornings on 2." we're live in san francisco, brian flores, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> 7:03. well, last night a terrifying and deadly scene at richmond, right in front of b.a.r.t. passengers. gunman shot and killed a b.a.r.t. passenger. ktvu's tara moriarty is at the richmond b.a.r.t. station. you've been out there since 4:30 this morning and investigators are still looking for a motive in this attack. >> reporter: police are gonna be poring over surveillance camera foot am. you can see one located -- footage. you can one located. when gunfire erupted, there were two bullets that sliced through windows on the side of this building. they actually -- one of them popped out on the other side. right here, you can see the very large hole where all of the glass is shattered. it ricocheted off this red column right here. police who were here say it was utterly chaotic with everybody scattering after they heard the shots. officers armed with flashlights combed the area last night just after 6:00. a source tells us the victim was an african-american man in his early 30s from richmond

moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> this morning, we're tracking an investigation into the shooting death of an elderly man in vallejo. ktvu's alex savidge has been there since 4:30 this morning. where was the victim found and what have you heard about witnesses? >> reporter: well, there are some witnesses, dave. vallejo police this morning -- at this point, are not talking about who the witnesses are or what they may have seen. vallejo police are not saying why this elderly man may have been targeted. but we do know that he was found about 5:30 last night inside a detached garage at a home on the 400 block of hichborn street on the west side of the city. that garage had apparently been converted into a living space. we saw homicide detectives gathering evidence there late into the night last night. now, the victim's name in this case is not being released because his family has yet to be notified. we're working with the sergeant to try to get an update on the investigation. this was vallejo's sixth homicide of the year so far. it'ss about listen a very busy month. they've had three
